Bobcats Tie on First Road Trip
Bobcats showed up ready to play in Sunday's action against the Bombers. The game remained scoreless until period 2 when Nick Fischer scored the only goal for Athens assisted by Joel Chalfant and Kyle Dean. Athens held the lead until late in the 3rd period. Plagued by penalties the remaining five minutes of the game and three skaters on the ice, the 'Cats fought hard but Dayton scored to tie the game. Jake Bloomfield proved strong in goal with 17 saves on 18 shots.
Game 2 action saw Dayton rack up two goals the first two periods and Athens put one on the board in period 3 thanks to a goal by Pierce Reeves with help from Henry Smith & Tanner Wood. The 'Cats ultimately lost the battle 1-4.
The Bobcats are hitting the road again next week for some Halloween action in Columbus on Saturday and Sunday.
