2019-captain-skating.jpgThe AYHA conducts hockey practices, scrimmages, and games at a number of ice arenas across Ohio and the Midwest.  It is the policy of the AYHA to abide by the state and local guidance set forth regarding COVID-19, which may vary by ice arena facility.  The AYHA will endeavor to stay up to date on changes with timely communications to hockey families as conditions change.

The Association has developed a policy with general considerations and guidance for AYHA volunteers, players, parents, and coaches as well as protocol for returning to play:

Summary of Local Facility Guidelines
Ohio University Bird Arena (as of September 15, 2021)
Ohio University is currently mandating masks for all parents, players, and coaches both on and off the ice, including during practices and games, regardless of age or vaccination status.  Visitors should practice social distancing while inside the facility.

OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks (as of September 15, 2021)
All of the Chiller Ice Rinks in Columbus require masks to be worn in all publicly accessible indoor spaces, regardless of an individual’s age or vaccination status.  Athletes and coaches will not be required to wear masks while on the ice surface, but must wear masks once they leave the ice surface.
