For the 2024-2025 season, it is anticipated that there will be more 14U-eligible players than can be placed on a 20-person roster for games (the maximum allowed by USA Hockey), but not enough to establish two separate 14U teams that have sufficient numbers of players to be competitive during the season.

In the event there are more than 20 registrants, second year 14U youth players who are eligible for the OSHL High School team may be moved up to the high school team by the AYHA Board of Directors, after consultation with the Director of Hockey and high school coaching staff.  Double rostering by 9th graders on both the 14U and High School team will not be permitted this season.
If there are still more than 20 youth players registered for the 14U team after those second year 14U players have moved up to the High School team, placement of any individual player remaining on the 14U team roster for games is not guaranteed, and the decision of which players will be on the roster will be decided by the AYHA Board of Directors after consultation with the Director of Hockey and the 14U coaching staff.  This 2024-2025 season policy ensures the greatest possibility for all youth players to be on a team roster, while maintaining a fair process for team selection.

For the 2024-2025 season, the High School team will participate in the OSHL Varsity Silver Division.  This is a new middle OSHL division for teams that in the past have been too highly skilled for JV competition, but also for teams that have not been skilled enough to compete against stronger Varsity teams.   Due to the anticipated number of 14U player registrations for the 2024-2025 season, 9th grade high school players will not be permitted to double roster on both the High School and 14U teams; they will be required to play on the High School team only.
