Athens Varsity Claims First Victory!
Athens Bobcats claimed their first victory of the season in a late-night matchup against Lakewood Rangers at Bird Arena. Lakewood scored just 20 seconds into the game and maintained the lead until the Bobcats tied the game with 34 seconds left in the period. Kevin Deal found the net on the power play with a back-handed goal assisted by Chris McGraw and Jacob Schriner. Nick Fischer scored the game winning goal with the assist from Kyle Dean early in period 2. The Bobcats proved victorious with hard work from the defense and Goalie, Alex Monterosso, racking up 15 saves.
