Bird Arena Closed to Community for 20-21 Season

Ohio University informed us on December 16 that Bird Arena will be closed to community use for the entire 20-21 season. Athens Hockey looks forward to resuming practices, games, our 8U and 10U tournaments, and our Learn-to-Play-Hockey partnership with the Columbus Blue Jackets for the 21-22 season.




The AYHA Board is meeting to to finalize accounting of fixed costs and process refunds to member families for our age-based teams. We hope to process refunds shortly after the holidays.

With the assistance of the Ohio Scholastic Hockey League and The Chiller with scheduling, and financial support from the McConnell Foundation and the Blue Jackets Foundation as well as member fees, the high school division will finish their season with all on-ice activities in Columbus.
