Lewis Center, OH-This 2010 Thanksgiving Weekend will be one to remember.  The Varsity Bobcats went undefeated (4-0) to capture the 12th Annual Midwest Thanksgiving Classic. The championship game featured Athens Bobcats with their 3-0 tournament seeding record (defeating Trinity, Toledo Central Catholic & St. Charles) against Hilliard Wildcats, also 3-0 in tournament seeding (defeating Indiana South, Montour & Upper Arlington.)  The game remained scoreless until 4:58 remaining in period two as Athens' Nick Fischer scored a power play goal assisted by Henry Smith and Chris Corrigan. 

The Varsity 'Cats skated to an easy 7-0 victory Saturday against Delaware Tribe on home ice.  Several Bobcats found the net....Henry Smith, Andrew Newton, James Ervin (2), Pierce Reeves, Tanner Wood, Matt Paulins with the assists from Newton, Ervin (2), Reeves, Tanner Adkins, Smith (2), Wood (3), Chris Corrigan Nick Fischer.  Goaltender, Alex Monterosso, earned his first shutout of the season.

After getting off to a rocky start and losing 5-2 to PRPC Friday night, the Bobcats ended the weekend with their first win of the season against Northeast Storm.  The 'Cats were led by Goalie, Jake Bloomfield, as he recorded his first shutout of the season.  The final score was 2-0 with goals from Jacob Schriner & Nick Fischer assisted by Tanner Wood,Matt Paulins and Evan Bates.  Bobcats will face Westerville at home this Friday.  The puck drops at 8:00 pm!

The Varsity 'Cats had a rough start to their season as they faced undefeated Hilliard Wildcats at the Dispatch Ice Haus in game one of GCHSCHL play.  Period one remained scoreless as both teams fought hard but couldn't find the net. Hilliard racked up two points in the second period and added two more in period three to bring the score 4-0.  Athens' Henry Smith scored a short handed goal with four minutes remaining and Goaltender Jake Bloomfield had 22 saves.  The 'Cats gave it their all but it wasn't enough as the game ended in a loss of 4-1.  The Bobcats host PRPC Ice Prowlers Friday at ...
