PeeWee (12U) BTHL Silver A, 2016-2017 (Athens Youth Hockey Association | Athens Ohio | Bird Arena)

AYHA's PeeWee Silver A team won the BTHL A Silver Upper Division Championship with a 1-0 victory over Dayton Stealth DeRosa at Dayton South Metro on Sunday February 26. The team finishes the season with an overall record of 36-10-1. In addition to the league championship, they were also champions of their divisions in the It's Hockey Time Rock n Roll Tournament on Martin Luther King weekend in Cleveland, and in the My Hockey Hemby Cup on President's Day weekend in Charlotte, NC.

Going into their final weekend of play, the PeeWee Silver A team has amassed a record of 34-10-1, and brought home championship trophies from both the Rock-n-Roll Cup in Cleveland, OH and the Hemby Cup in Charlotte, NC. With a MyHockey ranking of 79.91, they are the 26th ranked Tier 2 PeeWee 04 team in Ohio. They are seeded in the upper half of the BTHL PeeWee Silver A division for the End of Season Tournament.

This year’s 12U BTHL team had not practiced as a team prior to the Buckeye Travel Hockey League seeding tournament. Still, with nine players returning, they were expected to make a strong showing.
