The Varsity 'Cats skated to an easy 7-0 victory Saturday
against Delaware Tribe on home ice. Several Bobcats found the
net....Henry Smith, Andrew Newton, James Ervin (2), Pierce Reeves, Tanner Wood,
Matt Paulins with the assists from Newton, Ervin (2), Reeves, Tanner Adkins,
Smith (2), Wood (3), Chris Corrigan Nick Fischer. Goaltender, Alex
Monterosso, earned his first shutout of the season.
On Sunday the Bobcats traveled to Dispatch Ice Haus to face PRPC Prowlers, the last meeting between the teams resulted in a 5-2 loss for Athens. The 'Cats were determined to win and that's exactly what they did as they out-shot the Prowlers 24-10! James Ervin led the scoring with two goals assisted by Chris Corrigan, Henry Smith and Matt Paulins. Paulins scored goal three on a power play with an assist from Tanner Wood. The 'Cats were on target for another shutout when PRPC scored on a power play with 1:19 remaining in the game. The 3-1 victory over PRPC moves the Bobcats to 3rd place in GCHSCHL standings.
Athens hits the road this Saturday for Buckeye Travel Hockey League action in Northern Kentucky.
