Bobcats Lose Season Opener

The Varsity 'Cats had a rough start to their season as they faced undefeated Hilliard Wildcats at the Dispatch Ice Haus in game one of GCHSCHL play. Period one remained scoreless as both teams fought hard but couldn't find the net. Hilliard racked up two points in the second period and added two more in period three to bring the score 4-0. Athens' Henry Smith scored a short handed goal with four minutes remaining and Goaltender Jake Bloomfield had 22 saves. The 'Cats gave it their all but it wasn't enough as the game ended in a loss of 4-1. The Bobcats host PRPC Ice Prowlers Friday at 8:00pm.
