Bobcats Have a Victorious 3 Win Weekend - Athens Youth Hockey Association | Athens Ohio | Bird Arena

Athens Varsity Bobcats finished the weekend with yet another win against PRPC Prowlers on Sunday.  The last meeting of the two teams resulted in a tie, both teams had a lot to prove.  The 'Cats took the lead early with back to back power play goals from Henry Smith and Will Angelos assisted by Kevin Deal, Kyle Dean and Smith.  PRPC scored a few minutes later closing the gap 2-1.  Deal (assisted by Joel Chalfant) & Dean scored two more goals in period two of the game making the score 4-1.  PRPC answered with another goal in period three and with one minute remaining in the game, pulled their goaltender hoping for another tie.  With 17 seconds remaining in the game, Kevin Deal scored on the empty net earning the win for Athens 5-2. 

It was an incredible three days for the Varsity with 3 wins straight wins heading into tournament play for the holiday weekend as they participate in the 11th Annual Midwest Thanksgiving High School Hockey Classic in Columbus.
