Bobcats Scrimmage Vikings, Battle Top-Ranked Dayton
The Bobcats enjoyed a practice, mixed-team scrimmage, and 15-puck shootout with the AA Vikings on October 22. Following the game, the families enjoyed unseasonably warm weather outside at Little Fish.
On October 29, the Bobcats played two games against Dayton DeRosa, currently undefeated in league play and ranked at the top of the BTHL 14U A Silver division.
The Bobcats lost the first game 0-3, and were outshot 22-3. The Bobcats spent too much time in the penalty box, taking two minors for high sticking and one for tripping, and two 2-and-10s for head contact. The Stealth, on the other hand, took three minor penalties only. Although the Stealth only capitalized on one of their six power plays, persistent play short-handed and with a short bench was not to the Bobcats' advantage. Ian recorded 18 saves.
The Bobcats played it closer in game 2, with a final score of 1-3, and the third Stealth goal on an empty net. They spent less time in the penalty box, with one minor for holding and one 2-and-10 for checking from behind. The Stealth also incurred 2 minor penalties. Elijah scored a short-handed goal late in the first period during the 2-and-10, assisted by Mason. Young recorded 18 saves against 20 shots. The Bobcats got off 13 shots.
