That’s what TEAM means!!!
Submitted By Diane Cahill on Friday, January 27, 2012
January 14th the Athens Bantam traveled to Lexington to face the Lexington Thoroughbreds.  The games were exciting as usual and ended the way any parent hopes to see it end…with two wins.

However, the best part of those games was watching these individuals hit the ice and play as a team. It was so exciting to see that when the puck slid through one cat another was right behind them to pick it up! Or when one cat fought for the puck the others stood their ground waiting for the pass by the goal and took the shot. And if the cats were at the Thoroughbreds goal they often took their time to pass in a pattern you could see had been practiced. At the end of those two games each skating player had gained a point, whether it was through an assist or a goal! As I stood there and watched I wished my classmates and work colleagues could have been there. We often work in teams or talk about the benefit of teams, although I don’t see us having the same strong team mentality. I was so proud to see how far our kids have come and how well they exemplified the word TEAM. For me, that is one of the benefits of hockey and it makes for a very exciting game! Keep up the great work CATS!!!!
