Youth Hockey Skills

Zero-travel program for Ages 9 - 18

Participate in a weekly hockey skills session with Athens Hockey players and coaches. Station-based drills and small area games build hockey fundamentals. Participants are also eligible for youth "Drop-In" sessions. Drop-In sessions are occasionally-scheduled multi-age recreational non-checking game-times.

Full gear required, including mouth guard, cut-proof neck guard (Kevlar turtleneck OK), jock/jill. No body-checking. No slapshots with players/goalies below 14U on the ice. Puck or ball may be used.

Youth Hockey Skills assumes basic skating skills (moving forward and backwards without support). For new skaters, one session of Learn-to-Skate or Learn-to-Play-Hockey is recommended prior to or in parallel with Youth Hockey Skills.

Looking for something for younger players? Try 8U team play or Mite Midwinter House League (6U/8U zero-travel) instead.

To sign up: first register as an Ice Player with USA Hockey: usahockey.com.
Then complete our online registration.
