Gwyneth Phillips Selected for National Development Camp
Submitted By Valerie Young on Tuesday, April 8, 2014
AYHA Bantam player Gwyneth Philips attended the Mid America District of USA Hockey tryouts March 29 -30 at Kent State University. She was the 2000 birth year goalie selected from the Mid America District to attend the USA Hockey National Player Development Camp at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, St. Cloud, MN July 18 – 24.

During the 13-14 season Gwyneth enjoyed skating out with the Wild Cats (the combined Athens Youth Hockey Association - Charleston Amateur Hockey Association Bantam team competing in the Buckeye Travel Hockey League) and tended net for the AA 99 Columbus Blue Jackets. Ohio University student and Ohio D2 Goalie Teo Juratovac coached her twice a week all season. She appreciated the coaches and particularly her Wild Cats teammates for letting her schedule around the games of her all-girls team from Pittsburgh. During the first week of April she was in Boston MA competing in the USA Hockey National Championships with her Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 14U Girls team. Gwyneth is proud of her accomplishments this season and grateful for the coaching and support received from the Athens Youth Hockey Association.
