Athens Varsity Gives Back! - Athens Youth Hockey Association | Athens Ohio | Bird Arena

In the spirit of giving and tradition of Athens Varsity Hockey, the team spent time shopping for an Athens area family in need this holiday season.  With lists in hand, players, coaches and parents perused the aisles of Wal-Mart and carefully selected gifts to give four local children, ages 1-12, a special Christmas this year.  Immediately following their shopping excursion, players wrapped the many presents and concluded their afternoon with a delicious potluck feast!

The gifts were delivered to the Salvation Army along with an overflowing food basket that will be given to the "adopted" family.  This was a tremendous opportunity for the team to build camaraderie and give back to their community .
